well you see I would move off of discord if there was a platform that actually provided a comparable service: - matrix sucks ass in many regards, plus it's made more like signal/wa/skype - teamspeak is not made to be a forum-like experience, the model they pursue was dead in 2009 - guilded is dead - revolt (or actually, "stoat" now...?) I actually havent looked at it recently but it's definitely the closest to discord with the most chance at winning, if it gained some momentum. You can self host it, add e2ee and it could actually be a decent alternative to matrix and discord. The biggest problem atm is just momentum, everyone uses discord... because everyone uses discord. I might experiment with making a hyprland stoat community. I'll check the platform out and if I like it, maybe.

@teamspeak And we already have beta binaries for the TS6 server... Now all we need is a full release of that, and a TS6 android client, and we're game!

Like it or not, this 2000s / 2010s sterotype of "10x developer" is slowly disappearing as the best software engineers are incresingly empathetic: with customers, products etc (at more and more companies that is) Gilfoyle is entertaining to watch but would be a tough one to hire
