@Christianitymag @chrisrend There is a clear conflation of “love” with “not making me feel bad”. If speaking the truth in love means protecting the therapeutic feelings of the hearer then we run in to trouble with the book of Galatians, for starters.

@gpmitchell So easy to say something as popular as this in evangelical culture. But the real ministry is in somehow repairing the divide between LGBTQ and the church, not fortifying and doubling down on it.

@gpmitchell Yeah I must admit I came away from that thinking it was just an easy way to get a few thousand likes by appealing to people’s prejudices and proof texting. Can’t see how this meaningfully extends the gospel. Just shores up the fortress like walls the church is building.

The Bible says it. I believe it. That settles it. Whether we hold a trad sexual ethic or not, can we agree this a horrible way to speak about these things?
