@AngelsFaithful Would never know that was a national call, because it had all the disappointment and Astros-focus of just being the local announcers lol
English

@clough_zac @samwilsonfiles @PotterWorldW Every time a trailer with a widely criticized grade comes out, people always go “well it’s not final! It could change!” or “it fits these scenes but I’m sure others will look different!” but 99% of the time the whole show is exactly the same
English

@samwilsonfiles @PotterWorldW Agreed. I feel like some of the opening Hogwarts scenes feel like uncharted waters still which is reflected in the color. As the series goes on I can see them warming up the castle and then making it dark again when necessary for contrast.
English

@Mayor_Mojo @rockmeannadeus Haha well I appreciate it, it’s hard to tell sometimes!!
English

@cmd__8 @rockmeannadeus I was being facetious, it’s a stupid name and obviously a huge downgrade from Minute Maid park.
Also they make HVAC systems, and the only reason I know that is because I looked it up when they got the naming rights, so maybe the marketing is decent.
English

i genuinely cannot tell you what minute maid park is called now but good luck to you guys i guess
Los Angeles Dodgers@Dodgers
A new beginning. Welcome to UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium!
English

@Pokefreak911 @GunnerDobbins I just hope that he gets the chance, given that he’ll be in his 90s by wrap
English

@GunnerDobbins I think he's almost perfectly cast. As an actor Lithgow can do menacing but can also be cheerful and kind. He should be able to capture all the dimensions of Dumbledore effectively.
Now if only the other castings were good...
English

Harry Potter geek coming out of me: while I’m not interested in the show, I am sorta curious if Lithgow is going full serious Manipulative chessmater Dumbledore from the beginning

First look at John Lithgow as Dumbledore in the ‘HARRY POTTER’ series.
English

@Mayor_Mojo @rockmeannadeus Can’t be that incredible of branding if you couldn’t spell the 6-letter brand name accurately. Also, sounds like a yogurt brand. Can you name what they produce without looking it up?
English

@MMuzik30 @beanmansam @mattkauzlarich I understand, my use of “old” here just means their former logo. And finding it slightly funny that people are now saying the new one ruined the one that they already said ruined the old(er) one
English

@beanmansam @cmd__8 @mattkauzlarich Same here, the “old” one in the post is not what any of us who want the old logo back mean
English

@RDL0013 @samiramohans Which beautifully highlights why there was no need to make another adaptation
English

@samiramohans The majority of the characters look the same because thats how they look in the books. Lmfao
English

the uncanny valley of the aesthetics remaining largely the same with minor changes and then having mostly actors who look, again, very similar to the predecessors makes this feel like ai. like i know it's not ai but it feels like it. does this make sense to anyone else

First trailer for the ‘HARRY POTTER’ series. Releasing this Christmas on HBO.
English

@LakeInfe @cadendavasher19 @kevoisthegoat @HalToHell @xwOBA_enjoyer To be clear, there have already been more single-pitcher no-hitters and as many perfect games in the 10s and just over half of the 20s as there were in the 90s and 00s. It’s not following the same trend as shutouts, because it’s a different kind of personal accomplishment
English

@LakeInfe @cadendavasher19 @kevoisthegoat @HalToHell @xwOBA_enjoyer Not super relevant to one-day achievements like these. For example, solo no-hitters by decade:
70s: 28
80s: 13
90s: 26
00s: 19
10s: 34
20s (60%): 15
Sure, if a guy hits 120+ pitches, he may come out now (more combined no-nos). But the leash is way longer when you’re perfect.
English

Perfect game being +800 is one of the worst bets I've ever seen.
In the last 13 seasons of Major League Baseball, there has been one (1) perfect game.

Our favorite prop bets for the 2026 season!

@MarktheRed21 @ElCucharaGrande @HeerJeet I’ve also seen this very popular movie. “The inquirer” is a Nazi who realizes the people he is hunting are present, immediately followed by him executing them. How might that relate to the original tweet in a way that reads slightly worse than just “someone realizes something?”
English

Unlike you, I've seen the movie.
The picture is commonly used as a tell that the inquirer knows, correctly, the person is lying.
The scene occurs in the first 10 minutes of the movie.
I am sure even you can pay attention that long through the muddied haze of your SSRI meds and energy drinks.
English

Worth thinking about the implicit message of linking this photo with this tweet.
Lauren Chen@TheLaurenChen
So there are illegal immigrants at polling places?
English

@XxBiglayxX @LjungkullJ @HaloTerritory @SamBlum3 Even without Ward, you have to project this lineup as the worst in baseball to definitively say it is worse than 2024’s. While that’s certainly within the range of outcomes, I don’t necessarily think they’re THAT bad.
English

@LjungkullJ @HaloTerritory @SamBlum3 The bullpen is worse, the starting pitching staff is better on paper (but that’s about it), and they lost a 36 HR 103 RBI outfielder. They are not better then those two previous teams, and everyone in their division got better
English

"I probably take the under on 65 [wins]."
@SamBlum3 says there's always hope that the Angels can beat projections, but the pitching is a huge problem.
English

@MargBarCinema @MrNarci It's also SO commonly either a comically long compound word or "well it doesn't mean that by itself exactly, but it's often paired with this other word and carries that sense," neither of which precludes other languages from expressing the same idea
English

@MrNarci very annoying form of factoidslop is saying "this language has a word for X thing we don't in english." Like having a word for something precludes one from writing about it or is indicative of that group not understanding it. LCD bullshit for annoying guys so nod sagely at
English

@JomboyMedia @royalpratt Actually insane how no one is taking his side and everyone is against him for no reason here. He’s obviously in the right and hopefully can make some change on this.
English

Frank Thomas is suing the Chicago White Sox, Nike and Fanatics for selling City Connect jerseys using his name without receiving his permission or compensating him for it, per @royalpratt

English

@sanka721 @BadHorseBad @LogenLovesMusic @movie_tvshows_ This works fine for some situations (his teachers, classmates, random people he knew in passing) but REALLY not for Ned and MJ. I hope they have a different mechanic, because the idea that they had this relationship with a nameless faceless person is both dumb and horrifying
English

@BadHorseBad @LogenLovesMusic @movie_tvshows_ If you look at the pictures, Peter's face was always blocked out. Someone was there, they just don't know who it is.
English
