Its actually remarkably consistent judicial culture. Southerners only care about sportsball culture; everything else is secondary. If Tina Tintor has to be burned alive so that the retarded perp football athlete will increase the win rate of the local Texas Cletus Fuckhat Christian High School football team by 10%, then Tina is going to be burned alive Bobby.

Anal is a low class, desperate, male-centered peasant activity performed to please closeted gay men with porn addictions. No respectable woman would ever participate in such a vile kink.
Sex Industry Research - Reposts@SexIndustryResC

Receptive anal sex for females is almost always at the behest of a male partner who pressures her into accepting it. It IS risky and often harmful for her. This is very different from the situation with males, whose bodies are much larger and who have a prostate gland.

What’s the opportunity cost of an American college student murdered by an illegal immigrant, Alex? Does your economic model factor their lifetime of lost earnings in against the fiscal contributions of immigrants? Didn’t see that in your methodology, you greasy little weasel.
The Alex Nowrasteh@AlexNowrasteh

@Oilfield_Rando I get it, you didn't read the research & don't understand it. You don't understand how your fainting-couch judgments would justify other authoritarian rules. You don't understand relative risk or opportunity cost. Not reading and the inability to understand are your things.

It's official: A San Francisco judge just suspended the sentence of Antoine Watson, Grandpa Vicha's killer, and released him on probation. The judge said she thought imprisonment would have a "poor impact" on Watson. This is the state of SF courts. gli.st/lvyg5lck

Credit where it's due - Elon at least (hopefully) recognizes that georestricting payouts is a horrific idea. For future reference, let me summarize why: 1. The moral-political argument: You need to pay for X Premium to have reach. The reciprocal understanding is that if you add value to the platform, you are rewarded for it. That is, monetization has effectively made X into a pay-to-play social network. Geo-restricting payouts leaves the requirement to pay, but removes a big chunk of the "play" element - namely, compensation. Ironically, this is not even relevant for limiting actual state and corporate influence operations, who have their own funds. But foreign-based creators would effectively be asked to subsidize Americans - Americans like Catturd and Paul A. Szypula at that - in order to have any reach of their own. This is an unreasonable and insane ask. Speaking for myself - as someone who is now based outside the US, and having no interest in pivoting into Bangkok dive bar reviews, I would see fewer reasons to continue to "invest" in this site were these changes to be implemented. 2. The ethical argument: The US is a global empire and its conversations affect everyone. It's not a small, irrelevant, or insular state. Consequently, in so far as modernity rejects colonialism and embraces globalism, we may posit that the entire world population deserves unrestricted access to America's "town square". I won't spend too much time expounding on this because ethics is a social construct, not an objective reality, and the American demographics of this app lean xenophobic and performatively anti-cosmopolitan. Nonetheless, if X wants to specifically privilege US-based voices, then its earlier positioning of itself as a global square becomes a lie, with corresponding consequences for the amount of time and effort that foreigners should be willing to invest in it. Politicians, businesses, academics, and so forth don't maintain accounts on Truth Social, after all. 3. The practical argument: The main argument for georestriction is Third World political slop farms. Obviously, slop is a huge problem. It is also true that geoarbitrage makes it relatively more profitable to run slop farms in Bangladesh or whatever than in the US. However, there are several rejoinders to this. First, the problem is the algorithm, not the specific geographic location of slop posters. If users had more control over the algorithm, slop would not be a problem, at least for anyone with the brains to recognize and complain about it. (I also realize that this might not be solvable in principle, not due to any insurmountable technological reasons, but because the primary purpose of X is to make money, and slop is what sells). Second, the slop farmers who are only concerned with KPIs will invest the most effort in getting past georestrictions, whereas intellectuals with actual ideas would validly find such activities demeaning and beneath them. Third, increasing AI capabilities and agenticity means that controlling slop will always be an uphill struggle - before too long, there will effectively be billions of purely digital "Third World" slop farmers living on server farms. Finally, we must also recognize that there really is some degree of organic demand for "slop" - and that due to their lower IQ and critical faculties, this demand disproportionately comes from the MAGA side of the ideological aisle (latest example: Jessica Foster). This must deeply annoy and trigger MAGA's few intellectuals, hence the urge to blame it all on some token "Third Wolders" for effectively satisfying a market demand at competitive prices. But this is dishonest. Come to think of it, very similar to how Resist Libs/Blue Anon were ascribing every malady in US society real or perceived to Russia during the Russiagate era. You are not solving anything blaming it all on Indians and Nigerians and kicking out at them. The slop problem is a hard one, the boundaries between it and "real content" are blurred, and we are all to some extent complicit in it. 4. The political argument: This ultimately pertains to what political and social ideals you want X to stand for and to differentially promote (and as such has no strictly right or wrong answers). Today - for all its problems, from slopification to the exodus of academics - X remain a relatively free and freewheeling public square with a significant diversity of interesting communities and conversations. Politically, although X has obviously become the primary engine for online right-wing populism, it also hosts many of its most insightful skeptics. It's not a monoculture. This makes it the most politically interesting and relevant social media site alongside the Svbstack ecosystem and YouTube. The latter is much more "cosmopolitan" than the former. A geographically sequestered network privileges the parochial and the nativist, where questions of identity occupy center stage, over higher level political/interest communities. I am reasonably sure a monetarily georestricted British identitarian community can survive and even flourish, despite the UK political market being 10x smaller than America's. Restore UK and memes like Yookay / Amelia are largely irrelevant to anyone who isn't British and doesn't have a specific exclusionary view of what British identity entails, so said community will have the regionally concentrated economies of scale to support multiple full time creators. It will retain a concrete monetary incentive to stay on X. However, if we're talking of more global/cosmopolitan intellectual communities, from tech discussions to anime subcultures, there's no such regional magnets, and creators in those sectors will have a much bigger incentive to permanently migrate elsewhere (which in practice are likely to be Svbstack and YouTube). X will not "die" if it moves towards georestriction. But it does impact on "ideological load". A more closed X will look something like a kaleidoscope of national Truth Socials. Open X is what we have now. An open X that filters slop smartly will be true intellectual catnip, Svbstack but snappy and shortform; but probably less profitable. Ultimately, I am uninterested in advocating one policy or another, but I do think it's worth spelling out what I view as the likely second-order effects.

This underscores why it was a dumb idea to shut down Australian domestic oil refinery capability and to rely upon China to replace it. Australia looks like far less of a useful US ally in the event of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan as a result of current events.
Aus Integrity@QBCCIntegrity

China has cut Australia off for Jet A1 fuel (kerosene), all of next months shipments cancelled. Normally 12/month. There’s one ship inbound. That’s it. China is Australia’s largest Jet Fuel supplier.

Daily reminder it is perfectly reasonable to bomb and kill the Islamist terrorists who rule Iran and continue executing dissenting Iranians unabated. There would be a good counter-argument if Iran was strong, but in reality it is weak and run by seething losers.
