the paradox nobody talks about:
AI made everyone "good enough" at design.
Which means being good isn't enough anymore.
here's what still wins:
AI can copy Stripe's landing page structure.
It cannot tell you why Stripe's structure works for Stripe but would kill YOUR conversion.
AI can generate a hero section.
It cannot know which of your 3 value props resonates most with YOUR specific audience.
AI can create a bento grid of features.
It cannot decide which features to hide because they create doubt instead of trust.
That's taste. That's 2 years of designing landing pages and learning what actually converts vs what just looks good.
The floor rose. Everyone has access to "pretty."
The ceiling? Still earned through craft + positioning.

Positioning doesn't cut your sales cycle.
Clarity does. Here's the difference:
Without it: → Sales rep spends 20 mins explaining what you do → Prospect leaves confused → Discovery call = product education, not fit evaluation → They research competitors (who are also unclear) → Negotiations drag → 60-day sales cycle
With it: → Rep opens with a sharp value prop → Prospect says: "Wait — that's exactly our problem." → Discovery focuses on fit, not education → Buyer self-qualifies before the call even starts → 36 days. Done.
The gap? Your buyer needs to understand why they should care before they ever talk to you.
Most founders fix the pitch.
They should fix the story the pitch is built on.
