My fav projects are those we do so all kinds of new, not-yet-imagined projects can be done. Toolkit has been years in the making (& I only jumped in for the middle bit), but I hope we'll be reading new studies on kids' Attié (et al.!) lang development for decades to come.

Or do they? While agreement levels on the *best* name for an object differ a lot between languages, other measures of how well the object fits into a category are surprisingly convergent. Guess @Barbara_Malt et al. (1999) were onto something with "Knowing versus Naming"🙃

We asked US-English monolinguals on MTurk to name & rate 150 photos that have elicited cross-language category disagreement in the past. Unsurprisingly, these images still elicit a lot of disagreement about named categories between English and Mandarin speakers!
