I passed the equivalent of N2 the first year I lived in Japan and N1 the following year. My language learning secret? I was stuck out in the middle of nowhere. There was no internet and not a lot to do. I watched a lot of TV and studied for a year and a half and not a lot else.

I made a mission map. Japan split into 2 inhabitant areas. Orange is where church is near by, blue is church is not near.
