Happy 110th birthday to Martin Gardner! When I was a kid I used to go to Castro’s Books in Berkeley to get back issues of Scientific American for 25c, just for the Mathematical Games columns. Flexagons, Game of Life, magic squares, etc. kept me off the streets!

Points on a page are numbered 1, 2, 3, ..., 12. Must there be a straight line that separates the points into two sets so that sum of values on one side equals the sum of values on the other?
