With a highly diverse topography, a large country like India needs a dedicated ministry for #DisasterManagement. Multiple scientific studies show that heatwaves in India have intensified over the past two decades due to a combination of climate change, deforestation, land-use change, and human activity. So saying “this is routine” oversimplifies a much larger environmental problem. A natural event becoming more frequent and more severe is exactly what scientists are warning about.
