Fake web3 decentralized domains, File a predatory patent, then raise capital and sue parties that do not comply with their non-binding license. Then use the money to register Web2 TLDs. #UD

I was surprised by the reaction on my post. Separately on the same day ENS announced they are going for ".ens" expanding out from .eth also in ICANN. To me this is the obvious direction. I've had diff reachouts about visibility of web3 domains on our site and am looking at a few ideas there. But the general direction has been laid out for almost 2 years now and we continue to believe it's the right direction. If anything this has been a well telegraphed slow pivot over the past 2 years, bringing web3 along with us to ICANN where we can.

I would like to know then: - refund rounds for the remaining TLDs that will not apply to ICANN and which have not been refunded yet ? - why has the marketplace been changed to not show any past sales and any recent listings anymore? Which ICANN rule would prescribe that? - why does the user have to actively click on "Show Web3 TLDs" to unhide them? Which ICANN rule would mandate a registrar to initially hide all Web3 TLDs?

DNS domains now compose 90%+ of our business, and as we move to get several of our TLDs also listed in ICANN over the next few years our focus will continue to grow on the DNS and traditional internet market. We expect that 2-3 years from now DNS and the traditional web will be 99%+ of our business. For this reason you'll see updates on our site to reflect our new focus on traditional web2 domains. This is intentional. Web3 only domains were part of the crypto craze in 2021 but did not cross the chasm into mainstream usage. And for a while now we have believed they will remain a niche market now and into the future. They were a great place to start our journey into domains, but going forward our focus will be even more on the traditional market as it's the market that has crossed the chasm and is seeing mainstream usage.
