Democrats in California are facing a NIGHTMARE scenario: a Republican governor. Polling shows Chad Bianco and Steve Hilton could end up as the top two candidates. Shutting Democrats out entirely. They are COOKED. Is California going red?

This seems really bad but also like it was exactly the goal of systematically dismantling our federal government's standards & protections.

one of the media's major failures is not questioning the president seriously. if/when he insults a reporter they sit quietly like frightened children hoping not to be scolded. if he replies to a question by deflecting it, ask the question again; ask follow-up questions. UK journalists are skilled at this. without a courageous press, any authoritarian will walk all over them & hold them in contempt. journalism isn't supposed to be about being "liked"--rather, representing ordinary citizens who do not have access to persons of power.
