The canon's probably just gonna die organically. The whole point was that these were the books that educated people read, reference, and discussed. Hard to expect even solidly educated people to read much of anything anymore.

Houellebecq’s novels often have the stench of the commissioned work. “Submission” is a prime example. Comes out just at the right time and is so rabidly Zionist it’s almost comical.
