Someone could go to school for 4 years and study aerospace engineering, then get a PhD with a dissertation related to orbital mechanics, and some instagram influencer who watched a youtube video will be like "actually that guy is wrong" on a topic related to space travel and people will believe them. I'm not sure how we got here, but I hope we go back to a society where credibility is earned with rigorous training in the associated field, not by a popularity contest.

That’s not the issue. The issue is in the 1960s we spent a massive amount of money to develop technology to land on the moon and become spacefaring. And then these cocksuckers just abandoned it all and completely wasted our money… this was 60 years ago.. hard to stay interested in an agency that just repeats what it already supposedly has accomplished 60 years ago. Is there a reason that Artemis II doesn't even attempt to get into lunar orbit and will be 4k miles from the surface? Apollo 8 in 1968 got within 60-70 miles
