Velodrome and Aerodrome announcing buybacks on the same day. Once again, mispriced by the market. What nobody seems to understand is this rewards means more sustainable cash flow for the teams, more growth, and larger moats in the Optimism Superchain. Uniswap is the leader but their cash flow comes from a front end fee (race to the bottom), grants, and selling their token. These are finite resources.

It's great to see founders who launched during a difficult time for DeFi keep building the stack and shape a sustainable narrative. Mode will likely have one of the most epic comeback arcs for the Superchain, let alone across all of crypto in 2025. DeFAI will thrive.

Saying anything in crypto is 'fairly valued' is mid. Valiant effort trying to apply TradFi frameworks where pricing models exist and capital requirements are significantly high to create barriers to entry, but this has never worked in crypto, and I think we are nowhere close. Market cycle reflexivity (massive increases and decreases in capital and participants), hypercompetition, influencers deciding to back some but not other projects, and the risk of building in regulatory grey areas lead to massive disparity. We're excited for American leadership to reduce some of the Bitcoin halving cycle driven volatility through sensible legal and regulatory frameworks. But if you're making capital allocation decisions on TradFi metrics, using analogues to competitors without applying intangibles (e.g. supply distro, VC/vesting dynamics, community involvement, network effects), you're doing it wrong.
