I was going to tweet that not a single person has been in touch with me to say, "You were right about it all, I'm sorry." However that is incorrect because ONE person DID get in touch with me in like 2023 to say "You were right about it all, I'm sorry..." ... and one person out of a lifetime's worth of scoffing naysayers with their "do you know how many people would have to be in on it for that to be true etceteras" is not bad, I suppose.

@ShaneFrakes Joan of Arc by Twain. Preface states that Twain was diligent in his investigation before writing, and that the story is told as though it's all fact. It helped reshape my faith during an unfaithful period. All I wanted was to cure winter boredom.

Books labeled nonfiction that are nothing but fiction. Or the inverse. Books full of real information, but they push so far beyond the human experience and what people can handle that they are written as fiction. So the reader drops their guard, stops questioning, and lets it all in without resistance, no matter how wild it sounds.

Sometimes people ask about a scar on my arms and I'll just say, "cigarette burn" so I imagine they think it's the standard self harm scenario - but the truth is once a guy jokingly threatened to burn me with his cigarette on the back porch of a bar so I rolled up my sleeve and held out my arm and said, "Do it, then." I stared at him while he pressed the cigarette into my skin and waited for me to scream. Of course it hurt like hell, but I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction.

That would be a good result. If this gives courage to other people like him with TDS loved ones, that's good too. I wouldn't recommend they all do public reveals, however. What are we supposed to think will happen to those stuck in TDS 10 years from now? Serious question. Imagine a world that has been healed from TDS. Let's go there.

No, I would stay out of it. Men will not take back their power with vague casual accusations. Now he's in a position to either get a divorce or go home to people he accused of abuse. The latter sounds awful and dangerous. I had a hard time believing him because of the casual public reveal. He didn't seem afraid of going home after.

@fourthree147 @VigilantFox I wouldn’t be embarrassed to put my name on a request for an RO. “Getting physical” in any way is pretty much a slam dunk, unless you’ve just got a judge who doesn’t like ROs. They exist. And recent case law gives a scary broad defiiition to “disturbing the peace.”

Doesn't sound like he took a beating. Doesn't sound like anyone even struck him. "filled with rage and became physical." If he took a beating, and or was actually struck, attacked. Ok. If not, then maybe we should stop throwing around exaggerated accusations. I come from a land saturated with loud mouthed women, and I'm thus biased towards literal definitions of words describing violence. I don't know what happened, and a cursory search gave no actual information on what "get physical " actually refers to in this context.

Our neighbors invited us to their 4 year old sons bday last min yesterday so I ran to the store to grab a gift and I got him a stomp rocket because those are the best boy outdoor toys. I went outside to walk my dogs this morning and I saw the kids all outside playing with the stomp rocket 😂
