This might be one of the wildest weather splits we’ll see all year. At the same time parts of Ohio climb into the 70s and even mid-80s, Cleveland will still be sitting in the upper 30s due to cold air blowing in off Lake Erie. That sharp contrast is coming from a cold front combined with wind off the lake, creating a narrow band of much colder air across Northeast Ohio while the rest of the state warms up. Same state. Completely different day.

Even the talk I gave to priests where I preached on the line "the road to hell is paved with the skulls of mediocre priests." Even then I was pulling punches.

If you've ever heard me give an impassioned talk and thought, "Man, Meg didn't pull any punches," I need you to know that I pulled dozens, even hundreds of punches. I am so much more intense even than that. I'm trying really, really hard not to steamroll everybody 😂

@John_Barach @zenahitz @DavidDecosimo She has a mean streak towards her characters and takes altogether too much smug satisfaction in inventing gruesome scenarios in which they "learn their lesson" (about racism or whatever the issue of the story is), and she drives these lessons home in irksome didactic fashion.

One of my colleagues calls O'Connor "a seminar in a box". The stories spark a deep conversation like nothing else.

Twenty years ago we invaded Iraq. The war killed many innocent Iraqis and Americans. It destroyed the oldest Christian populations in the world. It cost over $1 trillion, and turned Iraq into a satellite of Iran. It was an unforced disaster, and I pray that we learn its lessons.
