MSPs have agreed that @scotparl should elect conveners instead of appointing them through party negotiations.
Following a debate led by Standards Convener @_MWhitfield MSP, the Standing Orders will be updated to include a procedure for electing conveners in the next session.

We need to seriously stop trying to score political points when there is a crisis unfolding. By all means challenge but we need to be above this. Do what is right by the British people and our Armed Forces. We are better than this. The division demonstrated does nothing other than play into our adversaries hands. 🙄

I've joined @UKLabour. As an environmentalist and left-leaning social democrat, my views are now far closer to Labour than the increasingly radicalised Greens and are much better reflected in the work of people like Ed Miliband and Sadiq Khan than by Zack Polanski or Mothin Ali.
