This is why you cannot use Eastern Yoruba philosophy to generalise Western Yoruba ideology, It’s totally different. There is no brutal war machine in western axis of West Africa like the Oyo empire. You cannot leave Ife and go and create dominion in Benin if you are not an imperialist. This is why this kind of rhetoric must be challenged. Ibadan was also a republican empire. When I raised the alarm that there was an intention to erase the real history of the Oyo empire for what it is, some people thought I was overstating facts. Here you have it. This is social engineering at its peak. They want to make a martial race to turn to a race of weaklings in order to suit their docile narratives. No Calvary in West Africa was as great as the Oyo empire.
