Someone started checkout and left.
This is your hottest lead. Credit card probably in hand. One click away from buying.
Your checkout abandonment flow should reflect that:
→ First email within 30-60 minutes
→ 4-5 emails total (intent is there, they won't be annoyed)
→ "Complete your order" not "continue shopping"
→ Show the exact product in the email with image and price
→ Add reviews or UGC in email 2 to handle doubt
→ Incentive in email 3 if you're using one
→ Founder note in email 4 asking if something's wrong
You don't treat a window shopper the same as someone at the register with their wallet out.
Your emails shouldn't either.

Tomorrow is the silent day here in Bali.
No lights, no flights, no transportation, no one outside, no noise.
The whole island just stops for 24 hours.
Heard ome people say it's the best Bali experience they've had.
The noise in this city is insane, so honestly a calm day with the ability to actually see the stars sounds worth it.
Will see how it goes...

The popup debate that's been going on forever.
Someone enters their email. You're sending them the code either way.
But do you also show it on the success page or make them check their inbox?
Option A: Show code on success page
They grab it and keep shopping. No friction. Higher chance they use it immediately.
But when your welcome email lands, they already have the code. Less reason to open.
Option B: Send them to their inbox
They leave the site to grab it, which forces them to open your first email and trains the behavior from day one, which gives you more space to introduce the brand.
But some people won't bother, and you're hoping they come back.
Your offer plays a role too.
Basic 10% off? Probably fine to show on site.
Something unique, like a mystery discount or giveaway? Sending them to your inbox gives you space to explain it and introduce your brand.
No right answer. Probably never will be.
If you're gonna test it, look at the full picture:
→ Site conversion rate
→ Welcome email open rate
→ First purchase rate from new subscribers
→ Long-term email engagement
Don't just look at pop-up attributed sales. A setup that converts better upfront but kills your email engagement isn't actually winning.
Test it for your brand and see what works best!

Discounts train your customers to wait for sales.
Here's what to send instead:
→ FAQs that answer objections before they ask
→ How your product is made (behind the scenes)
→ Customer stories explaining why they bought
→ Myth-busting content about your industry
→ How-to guides showing your product in action
None of these ask for a sale. All of them move people closer to buying.
You don't need to bribe people with codes. Educate them and they'll pay full price.

More segments ≠ better email marketing.
You need 3:
X-Day Engaged → Main sending list. Start at 30 days. Stay above 40% open rate or go tighter.
All-Time Engaged → Send every 1-2 weeks. When they open, they move back into your main list. Re-engagement loop.
VIP → 3+ purchases. Early access, exclusive offers. They've earned it.
Every other segment should answer: "What will I actually DO with this?"
No answer? Delete it and keep it simple!

LinkedIn is the easiest platform to find and book calls with your ideal clients.
I built the exact lead gen system we use for our clients Sales Nav filters, outbound sequences, and the follow-up messages that actually get replies.
This system booked 30+ calls for my client in 2 weeks.
like + comment "LEADS" and I'll DM you the full breakdown.

Small popups are polite. Polite popups get ignored.
Cover 75%+ of the screen. Minimum.
Full-page takeovers? Even better.
"But won't people get annoyed?"
Some will. But the actual buyers would be hooked.
Most will enter their email in 3 seconds and move on.
Stop hiding in the corner. It's also annoying.

Wild Roman just launched
Luved the branding
Wanted to order some moisturizer
but no shipping to Bali :(
So I designed this email campaign for them — hopefully @SahilBloom will arrange something 👀
Do you think this email design deserves it?
