@harpersnotes
I should probably leave comedy to the professionals. (Photo is from 30 or so years ago by the way, the last time I wore a tie.)

@C_3C_3 There should be a murder registry, just like there is a sex offender registry

Fun fact: the reason why HIV was associated with gays and lesbians is because they reported the disease. The disease affects everyone including the straights, but they kept it hidden because most of them get/spread the disease to their spouse because of cheating/prostitution.

🚨 San Jose is now rated as the safest city in the nation.

I built CourtWatch.us — a free public database for American citizens who deserve safer communities. You can track which judges released defendants who then got rearrested, skipped court, or violated their release conditions. All public records. All free. I started with Orange County FL and will be expanding to all 67 Florida counties and eventually every state in the country. This first batch of info is from 2024 and since public reports are released in March/April for the previous year, data is behind. But I wanted to see if this is plausible. After adding 2024,I'll add 2025 and then figure out how to get real-time-data uploaded. It's in beta — would love to know what you think 👇 Numbers don't lie, but criminals do. courtwatch.us @bennyjohnson @jockowillink @GrantCardone @LauraLoomer @nickshirleyy @j_fishback

@AntonioBayo3 I don't know what "hereditarianism" is. That human traits, including those related to cognition, are genetically influenced and under normal evolutionary processes (such as the selection inferred by Akbari et al.) is not a controversial idea in human evolutionary genetics.

@BlackDragonCan @d4doome Vance is good, but I think Niven's aliens are the best.

This is the canonically correct form of housing for a young, single person in a superstar city. Essentially the modern version of the boarding house.

I try to talk to at least one person suffering from cancer every single day. At a conference recently, someone told me their son in the UK had a tumor growing for 6 months. The NHS waiting list? Over a year. They asked me if he could get treated in India faster. This is testicular cancer. One of the most curable cancers on earth. And a young man was sitting in a queue to merely get diagnosed on time. Now imagine the care given to patients with glioblastoma. Or pancreatic cancer. Cancers where every single week matters. In the UK, 7 out of 10 pancreatic cancer patients receive no treatment at all. The UK ranks 28th out of 33 wealthy nations for lung cancer survival. If the UK matched the top five countries in survival for the deadliest cancers, 8,000 more people would live every year. That’s not a rounding error. That’s a stadium full of people. The American healthcare system has a thousand problems. But when you have cancer, you get treated. Speed is survival. And the market incentivizes speed.
