Alternatively, you can do what I'm doing. I haven't bothered to learn how to write Rust by hand, because that's never going to happen. I've taught myself enough about how to read the language so that when I prompt an AI to generate it for me I can review the result. That's quite enough.

@simonsarris @NigelBest5 Yeah this is a known thing and why the old stuff cooks better - they spent time to clean them up after casting them and now they don’t. The old stuff sticks less.
The new stuff “boutique” cast iron is nice too for the same reason.

Today we replaced the gilded (several times re-gilded and cut) French 18th century frame with a Dutch 17th century Ebony hollow with ripple sight edge on Rembrandt’s Self Portrait at the Age of 34 - now R. has a tangible presence in the room, the illusion has come to life.

@hmsp Not sure if this is what you’re asking about? Main thing is to file or grind the hammer’s edges as it mushrooms out, maintaining a safe chamfer all the way around.
