My friend @s_m_marandi is facing threats against his life because he dares to speak out. Nevermind the fact that it's often times the Western press that asks for his perspective. I stand in solidarity with Professor Marandi. @Support needs to step in here.

Nothing says “help is on the way” like telling the Iranian people you will cut off their electricity. A nation of 90 million is now stuck between a regime that brutally suppresses them and US/Israel threatening to disrupt their very basic necessities of life.

Targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure will not give America the upper hand in this war. It will drag the war into the region’s energy infrastructure, cause energy prices to skyrocket, and dramatically increase the material and political cost of the war for the Trump administration. Instead of targeting Iran’s power plants, the U.S. should deploy more aircraft carriers and fighter jets to the region to strike the Islamic Republic’s missile stockpiles on a much larger scale. Another appropriate action would be for the U.S.—instead of focusing on Kharg Island and the Strait of Hormuz—to focus on Tehran. With Israel’s help, make Tehran’s streets safe for the people so conditions are created for the public to come out and bring down this regime. A few more weeks and a few hundred billion extra dollars is all this war actually needs. After that, we can all benefit from an Iran after the Islamic Republic.

I walked into South Coast Plaza today and Sephora’s shelves were packed with Huda Beauty. This is a brand whose founder has pushed antisemitic conspiracy content and amplified propaganda that promotes Islamic Republic. At the same time, that same sinister cartel that was declared a terrorist regime is attacking US allies and threatening ports, airports and civilians across the region. So my question to you is simple: why are we still giving prime shelf space and American dollars to a brand whose founder helps launder the image of the regime trying to destabilize your partners and endanger your own citizens, @Sephora @LVMH @SouthCoastPlaza @StateDept @marcorubio @WhiteHouse?

Today, I attended a pro–Islamic Republic gathering outside the Prime Minister’s office in my capacity as a journalist. During the event, I was attacked from behind by one of the regime’s supporters, resulting in a serious injury to my left rib. The individual who assaulted me managed to pass through the police cordon before carrying out the attack. Another individual, identified as Mohammadreza Zohrevand, also threatened to kill me and my family. Fortunately, both the attacker and the individual who issued the death threats were arrested by the police. Many of these individuals are present in the United Kingdom under the status of asylum seekers, yet they openly support the Islamic Republic. Their presence poses a serious threat to the safety and security of all citizens in this country. I have repeatedly put my life at risk to demonstrate this reality. I sincerely hope that concrete and decisive action will now be taken.

واقعا فکر کردی با معذرت خواهی و در مقابل یا پیوستن به جمع افرادی مثل سازگارا که بنیانگذار سپاه کثیف پاسداران بوده و توله آخوند گلرو و بقیه افراد با سابقه سیاه و کثیف، میتونی سفید بشی؟ امثال گلرو و سازگارا هم معذرت خواهی کنن فایده نداره. چون توبه گرگ مرگه. حتی روی حرف خودت درمورد فراخوانی که گفتی شاهزاده رضا پهلوی بده هم واینستادی. دقیقا سه فاسد جمع شدین. بی صبرانه منتظر پیوستن فرقه رجوی بهتون هستیم. که قشنگ تکمیل تکمیل بشین. کثافت بزنن به ذات تون. به زباله دان تاریخ پیوستین شماها

هیچوقت هیچ بستگی و ربطی به این‌ حکومت نداشته‌ام که خوفی کنم. سالها پیش توییت زشت و نابه‌جایی درباره‌ی روح‌الله زم نوشته‌ام که بارها بابتش عذرخواهی کرده‌ام اما امروز فکر می‌کنم عذرخواهی‌های قبلی‌ بابت آن کامل و کافی نبوده است. نمی‌خواهم لکنتی در عذرخواهی داشته باشم؛ مسئولیت اجتماعی و سیاسی ما ایجاب می‌کند از هر کنشی که باعث رنجش، آسیب و تکدر خاطر جمعی می‌شود پرهیز کنیم. بعنوان یک زندانی سیاسی سابق که بارها مورد شکنجه قرار گرفته‌ام می‌دانم چنین شوخی زشتی با شکنجه کاملا اشتباه بوده است. همیشه بابت همان‌ یک جمله خود را شماتت کرده‌ام که می‌توانست مصداق عادی‌سازی و خشونت‌زدایی از شکنجه خصوصا شکنجه‌ی جنسی باشد. امیدوارم این عذرخواهی بتواند اندکی از رنج کسانی بکاهد که با دیدن آن نوشته، بار دیگر درد و تجربه‌های تلخ اتاق‌های بازجویی برایشان تداعی شده باشد. آزادی، عدالت و دموکراسی، نیازمند پذیرش صادقانه‌ی خطاها و تلاش برای جبران آنهاست.
