Been having a sore throat since yesterday, so I stepped out to get medication. I even budgeted N3,000 for it. I got to the pharmacy, explained my situation, and thought they would just give me one simple drug. Next thing, the pharmacist started placing different “special” medications on the table like I came for full treatment. Before I knew it, I had spent N7,500 on sore throat treatment. Tinubu is working.

Honestly, there’s no such thing as the “best medical course” or the “most important profession” in healthcare. At the end of the day, every field exists for one purpose, OPTIMAL PATIENT CARE AND MANAGEMENT. Healthcare is teamwork. Just like in football, every player has a role to play. Yes, there are moments when a team can adapt and play without one player, but the ultimate goal remains the same, TO WIN. So maybe it’s time we stop the “best this” and “most important that” debates, and start respecting the value every profession brings to patient care.

@iamteejayff We should not put a cap on their abilities. Instead we should clamor for better basic education for them. If the basics were done right for a majority, there would not be need for elds. Maybe a gradual phasing out.

In my regime I will;
1. Add General studies and Aptitude sections making it 400.
2. Make 250 the cut off for polytechnics, 270 Universities.
3. Ensure the Results are valid for two years.
4. Scrap ELDs and Quota system.
5. Scrap all corrupt forms of backdoor admissions and funny lists that come after the merit list. All admissions should be on merit. Defaulting this will attract severe punishment or loss of accreditation.
6. For students, Go hard or go home…literally.
7. For institutions, ensure the best possible standards.
Sit back and watch how the quality improves.

@iamteejayff I served in the north. I am familiar with the situation. I was made to teach computer science to students that had never seen one.
I had to bring my laptop to them for first hand experience. Even the head teacher didn’t have a laptop.

If we leave elds, it doesn’t encourage better performance honestly. We can take it off, and work on how to improve basic and secondary educations.. and work on improving situations that will motivate people to actually want to study.
Leaving elds makes people want to do the barest minimum.
We can only improve when we all put our best foots forward. That’s the spirit we will encourage.
