In addition to an excessive wealth tax I propose the following other taxes: 1) Excessive health tax. It’s unfair some people are healthier than others. They need to pay their fair share to the unhealthy medical bills. 2) Excessive poverty tax. You can’t be that poor. Tax you until you figure out how to get out of poverty. Proceeds go to advertising this tax. 3) Excessive children tax. You can’t pay the same property tax and expect more schooling for your kids. Tax per child over replacement rate. Yes we will tax fractionally. 4) Excessive driving tax. Learn to walk more, stop killing the planet with CO2. Truckers and Uber drivers alone can pay for my childcare. 5) Excessive enjoyment tax. Vacations, concerts, festivals, Broadway shows, more than 5 dinners out a month, baseball/football games, golf memberships should all be taxed and proceeds used to give the same opportunities to miserable people. 6) Excessive sex tax. Report honestly, and make yourself available to the people who don’t get laid easily. This will be considered community service, not forced prostitution. 7) Excessive education tax. You’re too knowledgeable, trade some of your A+ grades to failing students. 8) Excessive luck tax. You can’t tell me your success isn’t luck that you took from someone else likely through oppression. Tax luck. Whatever you win including a spelling bee means you can afford to give to less fortunate. 9) Excessive food consumption tax. You’re fat, so you get taxed on your weight with proceeds going to food insecure people. I’ll decide what fat means. You just pay. 10) Excessive days off tax. If you can afford not to work more than the bank holidays, a tax will be distributed to let others take off days with your pay. This needs an entire administrative layer and policing to make sure it’s fair. And to attract people to these positions they will be exempt from the taxes as an incentive to do what’s right and infiltrate to find violators. Call me the Chairman from now on. I’ll lead the crusade. 11) Bad ideas tax. I’ll make sure people like @RBReich help in identifying idiots who like humanity and independent responsibility.

On DOGE, Academia made a huge mistake by not giving the people in charge of America half the time any stake in their institution’s future. Gutting research, while bad for the nation, was smart politically, and I can’t help but see universities as partially at fault.
