@simonmaechling The scientific method is as valid as ever, but ‘science’ has a serious problem with fraud, deception, bias, politics. For the average punter it has lost respect and credibility because of these things.

@johnwread @Ceist8 @AtomicDoor @ClimateBen Actually, the faint gray dotted line does say 700-2000 m, but that's clearly not the line you've been looking at, because that line is visibly below the 0-300 m one.

@Saganismm Human history has a purpose and the prophetic timeline must play out. Judgement cometh.

@e_philalethes @Ceist8 @AtomicDoor @ClimateBen Thank you! For some reason @Ceist8 would not answer my question, but you are correct: I simply failed to read the label on the chart correctly.
English

@johnwread @Ceist8 @AtomicDoor @ClimateBen You can simply subtract the values to get the individual ones; for the most recent value there (May, 2024):
0-300 m: 103.3 ZJ (0.34 ZJ/m)
300-700 m: 51 ZJ (0.13 ZJ/m)
700-2000 m: 76.5 ZJ (0.06 ZJ/m)
See how that works? Add those up step by step and you get what the chart shows.

@DavidPocock Putting Australia first?! Such a concept is positively Trumpian …

Why on earth do successive 🇦🇺 govts keep allowing giant multinational companies to reap super profits from the sale of our resources without paying tax?? 🤯
This $$ should be supporting Australians in health, housing, education etc.

@Ceist8 @AtomicDoor @ClimateBen You continue to make a claim without actually answering my question 🤦🏻♂️ -> the Copernicus graphs show global anomalies, with ongoing deep ocean warming (layers 700–2000m) gaining heat at an accelerating rate greater than those above. How does top down heating account for this?
English

@johnwread @AtomicDoor @ClimateBen Once again, the article is very clear. Just because YOU can’t understand it, doesn’t mean the scientists made a “mistake”. 🙄
Ceist (refuting disinformation on climate change)@Ceist8
@johnwread @AtomicDoor @ClimateBen No, the oceans are warming from the top down, not bottom up. Read the source article for that graph "Long-term trends in ocean heat content indicate that most of the heat gain is in the upper 700 m of the ocean. This heat is slowly being transferred to the 700–2000 m layer
