@rorysutherland I'm a lime sceptic - I think that limes caused scurvy but were sold as the cure. Big Lime has a lot to answer for...

Of all national insults, "Limey" has to be the silliest. It is insulting someone for belonging to a group that prefers to avoid dying from scurvy.

Is there any Synod or national level data on the number of dioceses now operating mission communities, oversight areas etc? Writing an assignment and I’m struggling to find clear data on this @Psephizo @MadsDavies

Mother’s Day is one thing but Mothering Sunday is another story. It’s when we should return to our ‘mother church’ (where we were baptised) during Lent, providing an opportunity to reunite with family. Here’s mine - St John the Baptist, Hillingdon, Middlesex - where was yours?

I've always been fond of these Annie Vallotton illustrations. All our school Bibles were GNB and so had them, and I'm still a little disoriented when I open other Bibles and they aren't there! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annie_Val…

Hello there! I'm a boy kitten selected to follow in Pushkin's 🌈 pawsteps! I'm too young to move to the church quite yet, so you'll see my pictures in my foster home. I don't have a name yet, so I'd love to hear suggestions in the comments 😊

I’ve realised that I am not following very many Anglicans on here, especially members of the Church of England. Any and all recommendations of faithful Anglican individuals or groups to follow are very welcome.

@HumanistQuaker @JackPosobiec I was once asked in an interview whether I would capitalize s/Scripture or c/Church and why. I didn't get the job but still think about the question.

I doubt myself and @JackPosobiec agree on much at all. But this is how I was taught in English (and Divinity) lessons back in the 1970s. Even as an atheist half a century later it's a habit I can't break; you'll see posts I've made today using "He" etc. when referring to Jesus.
Jack Posobiec@JackPosobiec

Capitalize the name of God every time you write it. Same with the name of Jesus. Also when referring to He or Him, it must always be capitalized

@HumanistQuaker Yes! A staple of school dinners. I also remember when with the addition of curry powder the school mince turned green and we ate it with rice.

My Nana used to make this exact meal (I lived with them until I was 7). Loved it, and would actually happily eat it now. Brown sauce made it special though. Any other children of the 1970s UK remember this too, and getting the same strong sense memories? youtube.com/shorts/S2ZSZt_…

I've read quite a few reviews in the press, but interested to hear readers' thoughts on this. I've been reading the SPCK "Genesis for Everyone" books and was thinking about reading this next.
