@CEOAdam People stop going to the movies because the trailers are too long, food prices too high, and due to people who are on their phones. People on their phones aren’t going to come back, but the people who want to be there will leave if they see you’re not protecting the space.

@CEOAdam How about cutting trailers in half, removing the 3 advertisements telling the audience to come to AMC theaters, when they’re already sitting down, in your theater. Advertise on TikTok and Instagram to get people in, not to the people already there.

I know from my own losses and in reading your comments on X/Twitter how distraught many of you are with falling share prices. In looking at the likely 2026 industry-wide Box Office, we still expect it to grow materially over 2025 and if so that inexorably would significantly increase AMC’s EBITDA. However, the external macro backdrop around us is terrible. War in the Middle East, world oil prices soaring above $100 per barrel and other concerns have knocked the Dow Jones average to its lowest point in five months and the S&P 500 to its lowest point in four months. As for AMC, I am optimistic about our power to increase our earnings this year over last year. As for the state of the world, we will all read the news together. Naturally, we all can wish for the best on global developments.

Here's the testament to @pointfreeco's SQLiteData after migrating away from CoreData: Crashes went down almost instantly! 🔥 I think it's just down to the fact CoreData was built in pre-async/await era and Apple's public APIs are just patches bolted on to keep us running for a while. Not having to manage the background/main contexts between the view and model layers turns out to be insanely good.

Apple retail employees say that inventory of the iPhone 16e has basically dried out and the iPad Air is seeing shortages as well. I’ve been expecting new versions of both (iPhone 17e and M4 iPad Air) in the coming weeks.

@JPEGuin Exactly, and he knows that too. They release their films, begrudgingly, because they want the prestige that comes with it like Oscar eligibility. Fairly or unfairly, people do view straight to streaming movies as less than. People want to stream movies that were in theaters

Not to sound like an old man yelling at the cloud, but large corporations taking away the general public's experiences, little joys, and things that make life LIFE; and masquerading them as 'consumer friendly' ploys feels like the continuation of what's already killed many other industries. Don't take our movies too.

at a time when we’re more isolated from each other than ever, the theatrical experience has never been more important. they may not be perfect, but theaters are some of the few places left that bring people of all walks of life together to escape whatever we endure in the day-to-day and allow us to laugh as one, cry as one, feel as one, and belong to something bigger than ourselves. even if you’re there alone, you’re never truly alone. theaters are an essential cornerstone of every community, and i shudder to think of a future without them - one where the sadness and division that already corrupts our culture has increased tenfold and further eroded our empathy. the erasure of the theatrical experience isn’t just anti-art, it’s anti-humanity.
