@ThePlumLineGS Republicans have become the party of duplicity. It doesn’t appear to have occurred to them, or they just don’t care, that they will be judged harshly when the history of these times is written. Lies are a disqualifier for leadership.

@JoyceWhiteVance Vance is a soulless sycophant. He’s not exactly the step up from Trump we might hope for.

The White House just confirmed it: The 10-point peace plan Iran published on Wednesday is NOT the same plan Trump said was "a workable basis to negotiate." Iran released one version. Trump approved a different one. The public doesn't know what Trump actually agreed to. The press doesn't know. Congress doesn't know. But we're calling it a ceasefire anyway. Never stop connecting the dots.

Iran never obtained a nuclear weapon under previous presidents. The Trump team framing that they achieved what others failed to do is just factually incorrect.

@Julius_Kim Which is exactly why businessmen, especially those of questionable talent, should stay out of government. They are not the same. Totally different skill set. Make it a dishonorable businessman and it’s 100 times worse.

How serious could the Administration have been if they were willing to call off the killing of an entire civilization without getting something in writing first?

look, I may not approve of Donald Trump bombing Iran's civilian infrastructure, but he is our president and I will defend to the death his right to be removed from office, arrested, stripped of his wealth, tried for his crimes and chucked straight the fuck into prison

@gtconway3d @GulliAz Just think. If Iran charges $2 million per vessel to travel through the strait of Hormuz, they’ll be able to afford to buy a nuclear weapon and won’t have to develop one on their own. Thanks, Donald.

The NYT is reporting that Iran, in addition to gaining administrative control over the Strait of Hormuz, will now charge $2m per ship for safe passage, which it will split with Oman. It was free pre-war. Trump & Netanyahu have increased Iranian leverage over the global economy.

Iran confirms a ceasefire agreement but notes it will continue to “control the Strait of Hormuz", with ship access via coordination with Iran’s military. Iran did not “control” Hormuz pre-war. US acknowledgement of Iran controlling Hormuz is a strategic defeat and humiliation.

In the best case scenario, Trump struck a deal to reopen a Strait that was open before the pointless war he started, with the IRGC demonstrating its control over the Strait and potentially extracting fees plus sanctions relief. Thousands of innocents - including hundreds of children - dead in Lebanon and Iran for no reason. U.S. troops killed and wounded. U.S. embassies and bases in the Middle East badly damaged. U.S. standing in the world obliterated. U.S. munitions badly depleted. Hundreds of billions spent. Prices up everywhere. More global economic fallout to come. Putin strengthened and enriched. Just a catastrophic situation even in the best of circumstances. A profoundly shameful episode in American history no matter what happens next.

This morning: "A whole civilization dies tonight." Six hours later: Never mind. That's not strategy. That's not leverage. That's a man who just told the entire world…his word means nothing.

Franklin Graham said Donald Trump is the greatest Christian president he’s ever known. Even after Trump’s Easter Sunday profanity-laced, unhinged post and today’s threat to “kill an entire civilization,” Graham still stands by the disgraced president. It’s time for churches to examine their partnerships with organizations led by Graham, including Samaritan’s Purse, an organization I myself have volunteered with in the past. At this time, an association with Franklin Graham is more of a detriment to growing the kingdom of God than the benefit of partnering with his organizations for missions work. There are many other Christian-based NPOs that churches can partner with to share the love of Christ and to serve others through global and local missions. I can say with high confidence and Biblical authority that Jesus would not be aligned with Donald Trump. He loves him and died for him, but He certainly would not approve of his actions, and the fact that Franklin Graham believes otherwise leads me to question Graham’s own understanding of the Gospel.

Prior to the 800 pm deadline tonight Trump will falsely claim that Iran has agreed to something that they have not. He will then say we're extending the deadline by 2 weeks Iran will then issue a statement claiming they have agreed to nothing It has become quite obvious that there will be no resolution in 2 weeks or even two months Fuel prices will continue to rise fueling inflation

@MollyJongFast @dcpoll So Vance objected to the war, but not so much so that he would withhold his support to the president. And Trump was convinced all would end well because things always work out for him. I mean, what could go wrong?

@JoyceWhiteVance With Trump, we must never assume he will listen to anyone other than himself. And those around him enable him by fawning and complimenting his every utterance.

This story, with this revelation, on this timeline may hint at where VP could head on support for Trump: “In front of the president and his other advisers, Mr. Vance warned that the conflict could cause regional chaos and untold casualties, break apart the president’s political coalition, and be seen as a betrayal by voters who had supported the promise of no new wars”
Joyce Alene@JoyceWhiteVance

“When advisers raised the possibility that Iran could shut down the Strait of Hormuz — a choke point for vast quantities of global oil and gas — Mr. Trump dismissed the possibility, assuming the regime would capitulate before it came to that.” nytimes.com/2026/04/07/us/…
