All the Somalians living in section 8 housing are about to get free home renovations from taxpayers, funneled through the communist non profits who were impeding ICE agents. Thanks, @GOP! Great housing affordability bill!
Oilfield Rando@Oilfield_Rando

So the bipartisan housing bill includes a slush fund for slumlords and nonprofits to do free home repairs called the “Whole Home Repairs Act”. I’m tired, boss. I’m tired of middle class workers being squeezed for more free shit for strangers. grok.com/share/c2hhcmQt…

The ROAD to Housing Act is a progressive nightmare federal power grab. It's escaping proper scrutiny because commentators, opinion leaders and "influencers" are lazy (or worse), and have been charmed by the "affordability" lie and "bipartisanship" byline. But this bill does not do what they claim. The "corporate ownership" bans are weak, and the "regulation cuts" are negligible. 95% of this bill is Obamas housing & HUD policy on steroids. It's exactly the federal-into-local overreach that so many have fought for so long. There's a reason why the radical left are so angry Trump "paused" on the signing today… this is their bill. It's a DSA wet dream. NO republican, conservative or libertarian in their right minds should be supporting this. And Trump needs to VETO it immediately. DETAILS: Sec. 207 creates a $200 million program to incentivize dense, subsidized “affordable housing” units in our small communities. Sec. 101 forces housing counseling agencies to provide government-funded legal "help" to tenants facing lawful eviction, effectively subsidizing efforts to derail property rights. Sec. 106 even establishes a national eviction helpline for the same counterproductive, anti-capitalist purpose. This bill also provides a three-year reauthorization (with a push for permanence) of the flawed CDBG-DR program, w/ a history of massive delays and pro-urban bias. Disaster relief should be handled strictly by FEMA, not snuck into "housing" bills. It indefinitely reauthorizes and expands the idiotic HOME grant program. It authorizes a 7-year expansion of the PRICE program, letting HUD and NGOs buy trailer parks and force below-market rents. It reauthorizes and dramatically expands the RAD program (up to 100,000 units!), converting properties into long-term Section 8 housing via vouchers. It does nothing to restrict foreign adversary purchases of American housing stock (unlike efforts in the farm bill). It fails to make sanctuary jurisdictions ineligible for federal housing grants or to codify Trump’s “mixed status” rule limiting benefits for households with illegal or ineligible residents. AND it leaves in place the illegal COVID-era eviction moratorium.

Maybe I am a total contradiction, but I am an anti-Luddite who wants human-scaled life. I am pro-AI and nuclear power and I want to live in the Shire. I hate feedlots and the corn-soy abomination. Technological advancement is poised to make 19th Century agricultural quality achievable at scale. Most of my friends with a Luddite bent are so because they also want to live in the Shire but either don’t understand that to actually achieve this 80% of humanity would have to die off. For instance, raw milk is better than pasteurized milk in every single way. It’s nutritional value and taste it isn’t even close. But to deliver it safely, you need a farmer milking a cow and keeping everything sanitary while he does so. There is no way to do this at the scale to feed a city of millions. But if you have robots that can do it, you can. The same is true of regenerative farming and ranching. The choke point is always that it is labor intensive. But what if you needed 95% fewer human beings for the labor? Imagine Joel Salatin but with an army of droids. This is the future I envision. TL/DR if you want MAHA affordable at scale, you need data centers and nuclear power.

@souljagoyteller It’s still the same people, they’ve just had a longer time to march through the institutions at this point. We were right the whole time.

Elon Musk once jokingly offered to end World Hunger, asking how much it would cost as if it would be some incalculable number. When the UN replied saying 6.6 Billion would be enough to immediately end Famine for the year he never responded, and a few months later bought Twitter for 44 Billion. You struggle and suffer because people like him are allowed to exist, not because your neighbor is an immigrant.

Periodic reminder that you cannot breed out a polygenic and the generational response to selection is extremely slow. The Nazis sterilized or killed nearly all schizophrenics in Germany (a far more heritable phenotype than criminality) and yet the incidence increased.

horrifying weaponization of the criminal legal system – nobody died, all guns owned legally & only 1 of the 9 defendants fired a weapon, 3 weren't involved in planning & left when guards told them to. One didn't even attend, got 30 years for moving zines. theguardian.com/us-news/2026/j…

I'm so tired of lateness being viewed as a moral failing. I've been shamed for it my whole life because it's framed as "disrespect" (and no, it hasn't helped me be more punctual) and if I lost out on a major life opportunity because of it I don't think I could have ever recovered

@taliaotg Even if you were correct (and you aren’t), it would all be worth it just to watch it happen to you first. We’re going to make your allies broke and imprison your friends until there are none of you left.

In Texas if you protest against the illegal kidnappings of your neighbors, you’ll get sentenced to 50 years in prison because the judge wants to “send a message to anyone who shares a similar ideology.” Egregious.

@eigenrobot I used to be able to figure out “this guy is totally lost” in just 1 sentence. Now I have to read 3 paragraphs and 2 bulleted lists to reach the same conclusion.

@RabbiPoupko So that’s how you see Americans? A bunch of servants that should be punished for being insufficiently helpful?

There is an old Jewish tale told in the Talmud about a master who sent his servant to buy for him fish in the market. The servant came back with a fish that was utterly rotten and smelled bad for his master. His master gave the servant three options: Eat the rotten fish, pay a fine, or be expelled from the city. The servant chose the first and began eating the rotten fish. Halfway through eating the rotten fish he just couldn't stomach it anymore so he asked to pay the fine. After he paid half the fine he realized he cannot afford it anymore and was therefore expelled from the city, thereby taking on all three punishments. That is what JD Vance did to himself by turning on Israel and his horrifying performance today in Switzerland.
