@Keeefren @mrluwigi I think there are new fans who ARE the age that a lot of us were when undertale released- which is insane to think about, but would explain a lot. There's a huge fanbase on Roblox and tiktok and among teens in general

some of yall in the deltarune community got a lot of growing up to do im not going to lie

@deejuusan If a fan-translation isn't perfect, its fine. But if an *official* translation isn't perfect, then thousands of people will use the mistranslations as proof for theories that're disproven by the original/english version.

I hate to be that person who talks about the loss of reading comprehension, but seriously, people need to understand that when a story is reliant on words and wordplay and double meanings, it’s harder to translate and the author has to be involved in the process. For some people to read “I couldnt *officially* get it out in other languages because I need to be sure it matches my intended vision and I dont understand other languages” as him saying “other languages cant deliver my vision” or “translators arent good” is baffling. No matter what team he hires, he needs to spend time working closely with them to meet those bars. A significant amount of thought goes into localizing even specific words

i understand wanting other languages for deltarune but japanese translation already takes up so much time in the development cycle it would be so much worse if there were more. it would be nice to get more after the game is out but right now it doesnt really seem very possible
