@libsoftiktok Why do you continuously degrade yourself by posting this irrelevant and inflammatory garbage. Please learn some self restraint and decorum.

It actually makes perfect sense. What makes no sense is why the US allowed Iran to continue to sell oil in contravention of sanctions throughout this war. This embargo/blockade should have been in place as soon as Iran fired on the first non-Iranian ship that attempted to cross

SPAIN REJECTS HORMUZ BLOCKADE THREAT Margarita Robles said a proposed Strait of Hormuz blockade “makes no sense,” criticizing escalating tensions in the Iran conflict. She called the war “senseless” and warned it is pulling the world into a broader crisis. Spain has been among Europe’s strongest critics of the U.S.–Israeli campaign and has previously restricted military cooperation with the U.S. amid the conflict.

@contang_o Econometric modeling of oil prices based on historical data suggest fair value of +_$135/bbl based on recent demand, inventory and prodn (conditions in physical oil market). Trading in financial market has kept oil prices low. Low price elasticity of oil allows distortion.

@contang_o The world is consuming its oil inventory rapidly. Global oil storage wasn't high pre-Iran war. Oil demand has been strong. Its likely to remain strong. $100/bbl, inflation adjusted, is not high. US oil prodn is/has peaking. Hormuz fiasco like to spur increased storage...

The Iran ceasefire is being called a “pause.” It’s not. It’s a revelation: The U.S. used overwhelming force—and still could not control the outcome. That’s a structural shift in power.

Between Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka, I mapped 3 200 russian 🇷🇺 airstrikes in 3 months, including 1 400 new ones from july 11th to august 11th. Russian airforce is launching massive strikes at ukrainian 🇺🇦position, supporting a large offensive. 🧵THREAD🧵1/23 ⬇️

@CRUDEOIL231 What am I missing. Russia has been relentlessly attacking Ukraine & killing thousands of Ukrainians (& Russians) in an unprovoked war. Zelenskyy is attacking Russia's primary source of revenue and ability to wage war. Why would anyone want to restrain Zelenskyy????

I find it strange how Russia has faded from the spotlight. A friend of mine working as a shipping operator in Dubai just shared in our group chat that Ukraine is launching a massive barrage of missiles and drones into Russia. One of his vessels is currently in Novorossiysk, and the captain was shouting over the phone a missile just landed 200 meters away while drones were swarming overhead(today!). They were waiting at the anchorage, but they were just ordered to escape outside territorial waters immediately. Another friend at the Port of Ust-Luga complained yesterday he’s barely slept due to non-stop damage control over the past few days. Blood is flowing far from the Middle East, yet everyone is eerily quiet. There’s zero effort to restrain Zelenskyy, and not even a whisper of concern. In this context Ukraine could be functioning as a leverage for the EU. Perhaps even the EU wants to screw over both Putin and Trump at the same time. #oott #iran

Astonishing statement from General Carsten Breuer, chief of the German defence staff. "Germany no longer regards the USA as a reliable defence partner. We are assuming conflict with Russia in the next few years is inevitable, we are re-arming.

@EnergzdEconomy The US will be providing the Iranian government access to the global oil market at prevailing market prices and allowing Iran to receive much higher prices for their oil. This is a victory for cash strapped Iran.

“In essence, we will be using the Iranian barrels against the Iranians to keep the price down for the next 10 to 14 days as we continue this campaign.” Maybe. That’s one idea…. theguardian.com/us-news/2026/m…

@calvinfroedge US farmers typically over-apply fertilizer. Often their crops utilize only about half of the applied nitrogen. This leads to nutrient buildup in soil, greenhouse gas emissions, and water contamination. Good opportunity here for US farmers to become better farmers and save money.

@contang_o Keeping in mind that US & China are the only countries that have a large SPR relative to nat'l oil demand. Many refiners/countries risk being caught short of oil supply if Hormuz is closed for protracted period & will seek to expand domestic oil held in storage.

Update: Hormuz traffic is slowing down. You’re looking at tankers over 75,000 DWT near the Strait—filtered specifically for Aframax and up. Case in point: the Indian crude tanker DESH ABHIMAAN (IMO: 9326809) was bound for Ras Tanura, but it just bailed at the entrance and turned around. Still expect a 100% physical blockade to be near impossible, but the threat alone is enough. Nobody wants to be the first target case. #oott #iran
