The "leave no man behind" doctrine is actually a strategic weakness disguised as a virtue. Name one other military on earth that destroys 6 aircraft and fights a ground battle inside a sovereign nation to recover one pilot. You can't. Because no other military confuses tactical sentimentality with strategic logic. Soldiers serve the mission. The mission doesn't serve the soldier. The US has now established that Iran can shoot down an F-15, then watch America spend $300M and expose Delta Force trying to prove it didn't happen. That's not military doctrine. That's politics with weapons. A military that cannot accept the risk of loss cannot win wars. The US hasn't won one since 1945.

Lose all this to rescue 1 pilot and call it your greatest military success of all time.

I have been really disappointed by the discourse on this issue by some of my fellow service members and members of the MP community. A lot of alleged 2A supporters have suddenly adopted a real “rights for me but not for thee” attitude when the idea of service members carrying off-duty on base came up. These same alleged pro-2A people start parroting the same anti-gun talking points I’ve heard my entire life whenever the concealed carry debate comes up. We now have 40+ years of data that shows concealed carriers are safer than the average citizen and generally more law abiding. Bottom line, if you say you’re pro-2A but you don’t support this, well you’re not as 2A as you pretend, my guy.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth@SecWar

Our military installations have been turned into gun-free zones—leaving our service members vulnerable and exposed. That ends today.

There's a reason your doctor never mentioned Berberine. It can't be patented, so there's no profit in it. For 3,500 years, this natural compound has been torching fat and optimizing hormones. They buried it. I'm bringing it back. Here's the truth: 1… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

@dustinrhodes There's actually a name for extreme selective eating. It's called Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. I have it and it makes eating at family events difficult. I don't even like burgers because of the different textures and tastes mixing. I don't even like pasta sauce lol

@ufc @AlexaGrasso @paramountplus After what almost happened to Maycee Barber tonight, it’s time to change the rules. A fighter should not be allowed to attempt a submission immediately after a knockout. This is extremely dangerous. UFC and regulators must review this legislation now.

Watching Maycee Barber get sent to the shadow realm was the second best knockout I’ve seen in women’s MMA. The best is still Valentina head kicking Jessica Eye into another dimension

@cee_tee09 @Legal_Fil “Unreal goaltending saves keeping the Americans alive” Last time I checked goaltending was part of the game, and your big hero missed a wide open shot a pee-wee leaguer could have made. All the talk about “Canada dominated the game” is just fucking loser cope

First off, the comparison isn't quite fair, hockey is Canada's national sport with massive cultural weight, while baseball is huge in the US but doesn't carry the same existential identity for most Americans. That said, Canada absolutely dominated large stretches of that game against the US. The only reason it went to OT was some unreal goaltending saves keeping the Americans alive. Credit where it's due, they battled back, but Canada controlled play for much of it. But what really fueled the frustration wasn't just the loss; it was the wave of extremely arrogant takes from a lot of American fans and some players/media right after. Declaring hockey 'belongs' to the US now, calling their team the greatest ever assembled, acting like two golds in history suddenly overwrites decades of Canadian dominance... that lack of class and the gloating turned a hard-fought game into something way more heated. Congrats to Venezuela in the WBC, that was gracious. But let's not pretend the reactions are symmetrical when the context (sport's importance + post-game attitude) is so different.

It's not apples-to-apples, but the difference between how Americans reacted to losing the World Baseball Classic and how Canadians reacted to losing the Gold Medal hockey game is striking. Little to no whining. No claiming to be the better team. Just congratulating Venezuelans.
