That means that pediatric flu vaccination decision should be based on individual patient characteristics as opposed to population-wide factors.   In our scientific review of childhood immunizations, @HHSgov found no randomized controlled trials demonstrating reduction of community transmission, hospitalizations, or mortality in children from the pediatric vaccine. Some randomized controlled trials show reduced flu infection. Like all immunizations on the childhood schedule, the pediatric flu vaccine is covered by insurance for whoever chooses it. We’ve empowered parents and health care providers to choose the best course of action for each child.
