REALITY CHECK:
We tend to see ourselves as our intentions.
Most of us would say we're kind, generous, reliable, and hard-working—because that’s who we want to be.
Check yourself on that.
Intentions don't define you—actions do.
Good is as good does.
Ask yourself:
Whatever I believe about myself...
Do I have receipts to prove it?

Agreed. Great ads get written before shooting and design.
Recent example: Car Care Kit
Text on screen
1. “Your car looks dusty.”
- What’s your visual that shows this simple idea?
2. “You’re embarrassed at stoplights.”
- What shot would sell this emotion?
3. “Soap and water won’t fix that.”
- How would you show the ‘wrong way’?
4. “That’s why we made the Car Care Kit.”
- Product intro: How would you frame it?
5. “Foam. Shine. Protection. Everything you need, nothing you don’t.”
- How do you show these benefits Montage?
6. “Click below. Make it look like you care.”
- What’s your closing visual + CTA?

Writing structure and copy are the backbone of great video ads.
Before you think about visuals, focus on the copy.
What are you going to say and why?
What is the flow of what you want to communicate?
This starts with copy.
Then visuals are added to help show the great writing.
Copy sets the pace, energy, and visual direction.
If you want to get good at ads, focus on getting good at copy.

The faster you diagnose your personal bottleneck, the faster you’ll see progress and results.

47 pieces of advice after 12 years as an entrepreneur:

@smithcaseys Probably $70 per bin to customer
Would pay $80 or more to deliver to customer automated
With financing much more
English

Solve this problem and make UNLIMITED money
HERE IS WHAT I WANT
Drop ship garbage bin service
HERE IS THE PROBLEM
MOQs of 200 bins with lead times at 6 weeks. Then I have to store the bins and manage inventory. Then I have to hire a team to deliver them.
If I could just fire an API for a purchase and the bin shows up in 7 to 14 days without me touching it...
That would be AMAZING!

@MatthewGattozzi This is great. Creative is the most important element of advertising. It’s the difference and exceptionally difficult to do well.

These are pretty awesome. Excellent for early detection.
My best friend is a neural interventional radiologist and we were just discussing these last week.
“I hate being devils advocate for these but every time I read a CT or MRI I’m screening for ‘a thousand processes’. And to do an MRI of your whole body would take all day, so this must be some form of abbreviated testing using some AI to do predictive ‘screening’. Just be sure you’re comparing apples to apples.”

Got a Prenuvo scan last month.
Its a full body MRI scan.
Do you remember how you used to be able to smoke in restaurants? Seems crazy today.
I think in 20,40,50 years we'll look back and be like "wasn't it insane that years ago you could have cancer or something else in your body and not even know about it...and had you known, it would have been cured?"
I've been obsessed with that idea for a few years now.
So I love testing out products that address that.
Prenuvo was pretty cool. You get a fancy waiting room, dot eh scan, then login after and see the results.
Downside is that you have to sit in a loud MRI machine for like 45 minutes.
Was scary waiting for the results. But thankfully, all was good.
But overall, was super cool. Am thinking about getting them down annually (or something like that).
