@NeedlesOnNews @Corytrevor22 Yeah, Alberta doesn't dispense like with Safe Supply in Ontario. It is different, that's a given. I guess it's interesting that the number of people taking agonist drugs, recovery drugs, went from 39 to 61 out of the 380 once the centre was closed. But that's about it.

@NeedlesOnNews @Corytrevor22 Fair point. You may have to have an assessment over Zoom before you are prescribed the drugs that are then dispensed, to do whatever you wish with, at your leisure. I don't want to exaggerate and make it seem like the prescription is just given out all willy-nilly!

The hypothesis was that OD and associated negative outcomes would increase after the closure. They compare 381 Red Deer clients to clients of a site in Lethbridge that stayed open.

In the United States, there have been three mass school shootings that involve trans shooters — all of which have occurred since 2019.

Years ago, as a struggling small business owner, I decided to pay Christmas bonuses to my employees. I had very little cash in the bank and was living on credit cards. When I handed a $250 dollar check to one of my employees, they looked at it and said “oh, I thought it would be more” and walked out. Another employee looked at the check and said “I know we are struggling as a business, so this means a lot to me”. That employee went on to earn millions of dollars with me, while the other flamed out. Gratitude is everything.

@HoCStaffer Isn't it curious how multiple identical businesses exist and even thrive right next to each other to serve such a small population of eligible purchasers on reserves? It's pretty much the only on-reserve industry in most places so the government just looks the other way.

The FNs are actually able to do this. Provincial law doesn't supersede the Indian Act, which applies on Reserve. But if the province wanted to really crack down it could set up checkpoints - a border, so to speak - outside Reserve entrances. Pretty hard to bring your Reserve weed back home if you're going through an RCMP checkpoint.

I did a podcast a few weeks ago with @lawandchocolate about this issue, and if you listen you can identify pretty quickly that a lot of the ideas the Premier has here are very, very bad.

I would rather have a representative who asks questions and looks for answers than who says nothing as tho our current efforts are good enough.
