Star Trek had a ton of positive strong masculine characters/role models/father figures. Now the show is written by infantile talentless stooges with no vision or imagination or respect for the lore. Making Klingons men who share a wife, and having wear skirts and bedding other men is insulting.
Worfs son Alexander being resistant to Klingon warrior masculinity was a challenge Worf had to overcome, with a future Alexander going back in time to help make him into a man.
Episode 5 of Academy was pure infantile garbage and an insult to Deep Space 9, Benjamin Sisko, and Avery Brooks who specifically said he didn't want his character to be a black male who leaves his family.
Cadets going to a nightclub getting drunk with a literal modern day looking drag queen bartender, listening to hip hop and engaging in hook up culture, because again these writers have zero vision or imagination or understanding of Star Trek lore and can only write what they know from their hyper consumer.l, brand worshipping narrow view.
I wouldn't be surprised if episode 6 has the Hirogen now hunting for HIV like bug chasers and hunting for new genders.
