Physically/emotionally shattered. Again. Just broke down on the phone to carer support team. Been up with my Dad since 2am - blocked catheter, raging UTI, confusion/distress. This is not all that unusual in terms of stress/exhaustion for me. Being a carer is the hardest job ever

My Dad might be coming home tomorrow, 3 weeks after he was admitted to hospital with a severe kidney infection. He suffered a small stroke while an inpatient too. We haven't seen him for 21 days - unlike govt advisers, we abide by the spirit of the rules, as painful as that is.
