I'm pretty annoying about this topic but only because it's so personal. Lived in so many different places in my 20's and used to think about all this stuff primarily from a "good deal" standpoint Oh this spot is 15 minutes away from the station, equal 30 minute drive in each direction from these particular areas of activity, "up and coming" which may pay off in a few years, etc. Not super stoked on it, but not bad. Could be better, but price/value ratio is good Can find every reason as to why the numbers are tangibly justified and could make sense on paper, but consistently proved to be the wrong way to approach it. Took me years to get to a point where it became clear that I just needed to let the heart make the call No internal negotiations or long winded explanations. I feel inspired here, alive here, insert inexplicable sense of wholeness. And I will simply pay to continue feeling this way. Any money I save for living somewhere else where I don't feel this way will never yield a benefit that can outweigh the value of feeling this way More excitement, more calmness, more optimism, more energy, etc. Just the best version of myself, which makes it so easy to want to get out, talk to people, do things, and naturally increase my luck surface area. So worth it to care about this, and you'll be shocked by how much joy and potential you've been leaving on the table all this time for having not cared about this
