I’ve officially joined the ranks of former Tweeps.
I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to the people I worked with at Twitter. It wasn’t the company, and it wasn’t the product - it was all of you who kept me there for eight exciting, chaotic, and fulfilling years.
Thank you for the empathy, thoughtfulness, and patience you showed me. You are some of the most talented and brilliant people I've ever met, and it was a privilege and and honor to work with you.
I'm here to support you in any way I can, don't hesitate to reach out. #OneTeam
Getting word that a large number of number of Twitter contractors were just laid off this afternoon with no notice, both in the US and abroad. Functions affected appear to include content moderation, real estate, and marketing, among others
@smydrad@JoannaG@Tozier Not at all - it’s a great reminder about how important Curation was in shaping a compelling and fulfilling experience for our users. Please continue to point out when you see something that can be improved
Pssst!
Whoever the tweep is that has landed Curation's old job during the mid-term elections:
You only need to hyphenate "up to date" if it's a compound modifier before a noun.
@toizer@JoannaG Hey @toizer, could the Spanish version be reviewed too? "Manténgase en sintonía" seems a literal Google translation from "Stay tuned". "Manténgase informado" is more appropriate here.
Current and former Tweeps, I'm here to help. Please reach out if you need resume reviews, interview practice, introductions, reference letters, or anything else
These are the people who spent all day, every day, finding innovative ways to encourage healthy conversation, amplifying credible information for Twitter users, and identifying and mitigating potential harms introduced by new product features. Twitter is worse off without them
As the dust settles and we continue to learn which Tweeps were laid off, one thing is immediately clear - those who were cut are not low performers. Many of the most talented, passionate, and mission-driven colleagues I've ever had were impacted last week
@kieranhannon@kcoleman@jack@leslieberland Hi Kieran, we agree! We’re in the process of conducting a small pilot for a new misleading report flow to see how we can best use it to keep the platform safe. Hope to have more to share on next steps late this year or early next year
Today, we're taking an important step toward improving the quality of information on Twitter. This pilot will allow us to better understand how misleading information spreads online, and increase the speed and scale of our response. More to come soon
