This Portugal/Croatia match got me thinking…Man I’m gonna miss watching all these guys when this generation of footballers retire. Perisic, Modric, Ronaldo, Messi, Neuer, Ochoa, Dzeko and so many more…are such class. We’ve been lucky.

How much will Alphonso Davies play vs Morocco? I think we see a similar scenario as we did vs South Africa. If it’s a close match (1-1, 0-0) or Canada down by 1, he comes on around 60th-65th to try and change the game. If it goes into extra time, he gets subbed off again.

@CanMNTonly I don’t think he starts, I get the idea of putting all our eggs into one basket in this one, but I don’t know if he is capable of going 60-70 minutes at the pace Morocco play. All assumptions, who knows really though

I believe Alphonso Davies starts vs Morocco, and this is my reasoning. Phonzie came on in the 75th minute of a nil-nil game, which means his limit was 50 minutes. 15 + stopping time {which is always significant cause of the water breaks} + 30 for AET. Now 6 days later, I have to believe his limit should be 60-70. You absolutely take him in the first 60-70 minutes because extra time is not guaranteed. The only way it’s a different story is if Phonzie’s limit was 20 and Ahmed would have subbed on for him after the 90. By everything we can assume, Davies would have played extra time. So he has to start vs Morocco. We aren’t winning if ge isn’t a big part. It’s as simple as that for me. #CanMNT

@GCM1979 It all depends what happens during the game right, and Jesse will have to adjust as it goes along.

@tsarfc_ I didn't like the move bringing him in for a tie game against South Africa but I understood it because we were the favourites. End it in regular time. Against Morocco you don't want to burn the extra sub on a player you just brought in. It give Morocco a bigger advantage.
