The Oregon City man is now charged with drug trafficking and operating a CMV without a commercial driver’s license. Sun is being held in the St. Clair County Jail on bonds totaling $1.5 million.

A search of Sun’s truck turned up 23 boxes that contained about 185 pounds of marijuana. No additional details were released.

South Hackensack police said the DEA's New Jersey office has been cracking down on smoke shops that sell unregulated drugs. Because cannabis is still illegal under federal law a store's supply must come from a state-licensed vendor.

Youngjae Kim, 52, of Fort Lee, surrendered to South Hackensack police on Wednesday and was charged with first-degree manufacturing, distributing, and/or dispensing marijuana in the amount of 25 pounds.

Nice letter but it’s not “A Common-Sense Path Forward on Cannabis”, it’s a market grab dressed up as concern. You are pushing to shut down a competitive hemp industry by exaggerating risks, cherry-picking bad actors, and fear-mongering about fentanyl and foreign crime with no real evidence. You’re pretending your tightly licensed cannabis model is somehow flawless despite its own track record of contamination issues and regulatory failures. The reality is simple, hemp is legal, widely tested, and competing with your business. Instead of competing, you want policymakers to eliminate that competition and hand the market to you and a handful of MSOs under the guise of “safety.” I bet SAM would love to have you on their team.

This is not about punishing legitimate businesses. It is about stopping those who knowingly operate outside the law, sell untested intoxicants to minors, and undermine both public safety and voter-approved programs.
