You keep trying to sound smart on Twitter, but it’s not landing. Are you suggesting Tinubu supporters are using a different INEC server? When the system fails, it fails for everyone, politics doesn’t come with separate lanes. How exactly did you conclude that only one side is complaining? That’s just selective narrative. I support Tinubu just like others support Obi, and even I’m dealing with a damaged PVC I’ve been trying to fix. Not everything is a conspiracy or a social media script for engagement farming. If INEC’s system goes down, it affects all Nigerians equally, supporters of every party included. So maybe drop the assumptions and stick to facts instead of pushing partisan fantasies.

It is profoundly telling that you never see Tinubu or APC supporters condemning INEC’s systemic failures. There is absolutely no outrage from their camp. There is no tweet from their tweeter warlord asking for Amupitan resignation. Instead, their smug confidence that "nobody can defeat Tinubu" seems to stem directly from this broken system. They aren't upset because the flaws work in their favour or it's part of their game plan. It’s a chilling realization when an entire political block becomes so comfortable with electoral irregularities that they treat systemic criminality as a standard winning strategy.

.... 5. Why the "Over-Borrowing" is a Strategic Necessity The N1.54 trillion overshoot in borrowing targets for 2025 can be analyzed as a Counter-Cyclical Fiscal Policy. When a private sector is sluggish due to high interest rates (tight monetary policy to fight inflation), the government must spend to prevent a recession. - Infrastructure as a Stimulus: Every N1 trillion spent on the Sokoto-Badagry road creates thousands of jobs in construction, cement, and logistics. - Stabilization: The borrowing is also stabilizing the financial system. By clearing the valid $7 billion forex backlog inherited from the previous era, Tinubu has restored confidence in the Naira, which is a prerequisite for any "production" economy. Analytical Conclusion Peter Obi’s critique focuses on the stock of debt, whereas a developmental economist focuses on the purpose of debt. Under the previous administration, Nigeria borrowed to fund a $10 billion-a-year fuel subsidy—essentially burning money in car exhaust pipes. Under President Tinubu, the government is borrowing to build a 700km coastal highway and to fund the education of millions. The transition from a "Subsidy Economy" to a "Physical & Human Capital Economy" is naturally capital-intensive. The increase in the debt-to-GDP ratio is a temporary side effect of correcting a decade of fiscal mismanagement. If these infrastructure projects are completed as planned, the resulting GDP growth will naturally "dilute" the debt, leading to a more prosperous and self-sustaining Nigeria.

To provide an analytical counter-perspective to Peter Obi’s critique, one must look beyond the raw, nominal debt figures and examine the structural transformation occurring in Nigeria’s fiscal architecture. From an economic standpoint, President Bola Tinubu’s administration is executing a "Controlled Fiscal Reset"—shifting the country away from a debt-fueled consumption model (subsidies) toward a debt-leveraged production model (infrastructure and human capital). Here is an analytical breakdown of why the current trajectory, while painful in the short term, is a necessary pivot for long-term solvency and growth. 1. The "Nominal Debt" Fallacy: Understanding the Exchange Rate Impact The claim that debt has "escalated" by N100 trillion requires economic context. A massive portion of this increase is not new borrowing but the revaluation of existing foreign debt. - The Math: Nigeria’s external debt is denominated in USD. When the administration unified the exchange rate (moving from N460/ to ~N1,500/), the Naira value of that existing debt tripled on the balance sheet. This is a bookkeeping reality of transparency, not necessarily new cash spent. - Securitization of Ways and Means: The Tinubu administration moved to formalize the N30 trillion "Ways and Means" (hidden debt) inherited from the previous administration. By bringing this onto the books, the government chose transparency over obfuscation, allowing for proper servicing and accountability. 2. Borrowing for the "Multiplier Effect" (Production over Consumption) Peter Obi’s critique suggests a lack of clarity on fund utilization. However, the 2024-2025 fiscal cycle marks a departure from borrowing to pay for petrol subsidies (consumption) to borrowing for Tier-1 Infrastructure. - The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway: This is not just a road; it is an economic artery. By connecting major ports and agricultural zones, it reduces transit costs by an estimated 30-40%, directly impacting food inflation and export competitiveness. - Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway: This project unlocks the agricultural potential of the North-West, providing a direct link to the Lagos markets and ports. This is "Borrowing for Production"—investing in assets that generate their own internal rate of return (IRR) through increased trade and taxes. - NELFUND (Student Loans): Allocating borrowed funds to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund is an investment in Human Capital Production. By ensuring the brightest minds stay in school regardless of income, the government is preventing a future productivity gap. 3. The CAPEX vs. Recurrent Expenditure Debate Obi points to a 17.66% utilization of capital expenditure in the first three quarters. An economist would view this as a timing lag rather than a "fiasco." - Procurement Cycles: Massive projects like the Coastal Highway require rigorous environmental impact assessments (EIA) and procurement phases before bulk disbursements are made. - Debt Servicing: A significant portion of the "excess" borrowing cited by Obi is being used to service legacy debts at higher interest rates. By maintaining Nigeria’s creditworthiness and avoiding default, Tinubu is ensuring that Nigeria remains an investable destination for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). 4. Fiscal Federalism: The FAAC Increase One of the most significant "production" wins of this administration is the doubling of FAAC (Federation Account Allocation Committee) distributions. - By removing the fuel subsidy and unifying the FX window, the revenue available to States and Local Governments has skyrocketed (often 100-150% higher than 2023 levels). - The Strategy: The Federal Government is decentralizing development. Borrowing at the center allows the sub-nationals to receive record revenues to fund primary healthcare, rural roads, and education at the grassroots level.....

Excessive Borrowing Without Accountability: Further Affirmation of Imprudent Governance. President Bola Tinubu's administration has engaged in remarkably imprudent borrowing, escalating Nigeria's total debt to approximately N200 trillion. This represents an increase of over N100 trillion within a mere three years, a stark contrast to the roughly N49 trillion accumulated during President Muhammadu Buhari's eight-year tenure, which would have projected to around N80 trillion. As millions of Nigerians grapple with the shock of this unsustainable debt accumulation, the situation is exacerbated by the government's reckless approach to borrowing and a profound absence of accountability and transparency in the utilisation of these funds. For instance, data from the Federation's Budget Office reveals that the Bola Tinubu government borrowed N11.89 trillion in the first three quarters of 2025 (January to September), exceeding the planned borrowing target of N10.34 trillion by approximately N1.54 trillion. Under a responsible and accountable government, such an overshoot would necessitate rigorous scrutiny and explanation from relevant governmental bodies. Regrettably, this is not the reality under the current administration. Compounding this issue, only N3.10 trillion of the borrowed funds was allocated to capital expenditure during the same January-September 2025 period. This constitutes a mere 17.66% of the N17.58 trillion earmarked for capital projects, leaving a deficit of roughly N14.48 trillion, or 82.34% of planned capital expenditure unfunded. The most disturbing aspect of the financial management fiasco under Bola Tinubu is that there is no explanation or information regarding how the balance was utilised or deployed. The question that Nigerians are rightly asking and deserve an answer to is what happened to the balance? Was it deployed for recurrent expenditure/ consumption, for the entertainment of guests to Aso Rock or transferred to the Renewed Hope Agenda 2027 Election Campaign Fund? Nigerians deserve an answer on how our economy and resources are most unpatriotically managed. A New and Productive Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO

When you’ve turned a politician into an idol, objective truth will always look like bias to you. If I am wrong, challenge my facts instead of throwing cheap accusations. Let's start from there. Trust me, if I wanted easy money, I could easily jump on the "City Boy" train and praise the mandate for a fee. But what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses the kingdom of God? I refuse to sell my conscience to cover up failure.

I can see that sometimes you don't make thoughtful comments. Are you saying that state policing, which the president has been advocating for since assuming office, is not worthwhile? Should governors not be empowered to help secure their own states, by National Assembly passing the law on state police? The president has repeatedly stated that protecting the lives and property of citizens is a priority. Isn't the creation of state police one of the ways to achieve that? Or do you expect the federal government to effectively secure every state from Abuja alone? Don't give a dog a bad name just to justify killing it. Try to think critically before commenting and be objective in your assessment of issues.

If I have 592.4K followers and post content that, in an hour, only gets 2,532 views, 6 retweets, 12 likes, and 1 bookmark - even after adding trending keywords like RCCG, Adeboye, Amen, and Mbaka - it shows a complete rejection of whomever the post tried to promote. For those agitating and clamouring for the removal of President Tinubu in 2027, let me for once, align with your illogical school of thought and join your call, even though it is glaringly unrealistic. Let me assume, for the sake of argument, that it is actually possible. My question then is simple: who exactly is the better alternative among those currently being paraded as potential replacements in 2027? Is it @atiku, whose era as Vice President was marked by controversies surrounding the privatization of national assets and whose former ally, Babachir Lawal, has openly suggested that his emergence could pose serious religious and ethnic concerns for the country? A Fulani man whose who could be perceived as being too sympathetic to interests linked to the Fulani establishment at a time when Nigeria is still battling insecurity. Or is it @PeterObi, who is even the worst of them all. Beyond his tribal and religious bigotry, a fact known by many in the country, he has also consistently failed to convince many Nigerians that he possesses the depth and capacity required for the nation's highest office? A man whose public engagements frequently generate more questions than answers, whose responses are often contradictory, who thrives on highlighting catastrophic narratives, and whose tenure as governor was, according to the people he governed, far from being free of security challenges. To me, these remain the two weakest and worst candidates ever seriously projected to take over from Pres Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If there are other contenders with stronger credentials, clearer visions and greater capacity than those currently on offer, then bring them forward. Perhaps then I may permanently align with your argument for removing Tinubu in 2027 who has placed Nigeria on the path of steady progress. Until that happens, all the noise, propaganda and political excitement surrounding the idea of unseating him amounts to little more than political fantasy and childish play that is unlikely to materialize. You are so ignorant, Don. You seem to have forgotten that in Nigeria, the government often makes announcements about issues like this, but many people ignore them out of negligence until the last minute. INEC has been announcing the issue you raised for quite some time, yet many people chose not to take it seriously. Now you're here trying to give INEC a bad name for nothing. Who doesn't know that elections are around the corner and that this is the time to register or obtain their PVC? Any sensible Nigerian should not have to wait for INEC to constantly remind them. People should take the initiative and find out such information for themselves. We should not expect to be spoon-fed on everything in this country. The only thing some youths seem to be good at these days is spreading fake news just to chase clout, which is exactly what you have been doing lately. Stop being ignorant, man.

Many Nigerians are asking basic questions about how to get their PVCs for the election - how to register, but INEC is completely silent. They are doing absolutely nothing to educate the public. The only time you hear from INEC is deadline announcement. It is almost as if they are actively trying to discourage people from registering to vote. Despite receiving billions of Naira in budgetary allocations specifically meant for citizen engagement, voter education in Nigeria is completely dead.

One thing about these so-called Obidients is that they tend to think in only one direction. They rarely pause to consider whether what is being said might actually be true. Instead, they resort to insulting anyone who dares to criticize or disagree with Peter Obi. It is no surprise that some people describe them as a headless mob rather than a movement. As you rightly pointed out, many of Obi's foot soldiers, including Aisha and others like her, appear to have little or no influence within the NDC and seem to have been sidelined.
Charles Adegbite Beecroft🇳🇬🇳🇬❤️@cabeecroft23

Some days ago, I opined here that Obi has been caged in the NDC. Many people came for me aggressively. Please answer, how many frontline Obidients who participated in the primaries won? Zilch! Owners of NDC have an agenda that is quite different from what OBI and his rude and politically ignorant group think. Now, NDC is entering the fundraising phase of its agenda. Aisha Yesufu, unlike the power and influence she commanded in the LP, would have no role whatsoever to perform. Again, notice the body language of Kwankwaso now and compare it with Datti Ahmed then in the LP. Kwankwaso has refused to step away from his brand to embrace the "OK" brand as being superior to his brand. Seriake Dickson holds all the aces, and he is not sharing power and control of the NDC apparatus with anyone. Least of all, Obi. NDC is positioning itself for 2031 but using 2027 as a political springboard to grow the party to have a national spread. Both Seriake and Kwankwaso know this, and they need the desperation and gullibility of Obi to water the ground.
