For YouTube translations, that auto translate titles and descriptions thing is honestly annoying. Go into YouTube settings and turn off “translate to your language”. If it still forces it, set your YouTube language to English and it usually stops messing around. Reddit is worse. It loves auto translating. Best fix is forcing English in account settings and disabling browser translation in Brave settings. Otherwise it keeps sneaking back. Removing Shorts is easy, as youtube has an option to do that from the time management settings

Most people install an ad blocker. Need distro recommendation. My requirements: -No spyware/telemetry/etc -No bloatware/adware -Stable - don't want to be not able to logon after some update or anything -For daily use -Don't want to spend too much time on making things work. Prefer most of things to work right away. Spending some hours is still fine. I had some Linux experience and I'm tech guy. Just don't want to waste too much time.

@loyalmoses I have been using only linux for 4 years. The Windows is geting worse every day but Linux is geting better.

I don’t like using Windows at all, but no, Linux will never be a reliable desktop OS for mainstream use. Never.

@Gamingtronium Don't recommend Ubuntu or GNOME for newbies. Mint and MX Linux are better options for starting out.
