There are actually two types of suspensions on X. The first one is a temporary suspension — in this phase, some features like posting, replying, or engaging are restricted, but DMs can still work. This usually means the account is under review and can last anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks. The second is a permanent suspension — once it reaches this stage, the account is fully disabled and you can’t DM or perform any activity at all. So if DMs are still working, it’s most likely not fully suspended yet.

If an account gets suspended, they can't post, repost, reply, engage with other accounts, but, for some reason, they can still DM. Does anyone know why that's possible? Also, does that mean they are not fully suspended? Or that's how it works?
