I have grown to dislike the word hobby. My writing has been referred to as a hobby because it doesn't pull in hundreds of dollars.
I am writing books because it is my purpose. I want it to be a career. I am willing to spend months on a single manuscript. TV has been replaced by books.
Writing isn't a hobby. It's my life.

I'm not going to participate in the editor-or-not debate. But something I will reiterate is the value of rereading your own pre-pub work in different mediums. You absolutely will find different bugs reading a paperback proof vs an ePub vs a Word doc. Do them all.

I am normally not one to wantonly throw around phrases like “enemies of civilization” but that is genuinely how I feel about people who inherit the copyright to a dead author’s work and take it upon themselves to “update” and replace the original
