Not enough heroic fantasy characters are raised as butchers. Makes more sense than farmboys suddenly manifesting amazing sword skills.

I keep seeing memes like this in response to the supposed upcoming UFO reveals. I'm going to take a stance that seems to be unpopular in Christian X. While many "alien encounters" seem demonic, I am entirely open to the idea that real, non-demonic aliens might exist somewhere. It's a big, mysterious universe, and I don't pretend to know all of what God is up to with the story of the cosmos.

Today I finished reading Quaint Creatures by @AndrewDMth. Quaint is an accurate descriptor for most of this story. The cozy label also fits. But the city it takes place in feels lively, full of nuance and complexity, and is deeply built. (1/2)

It feels like there’s boundless threads to explore. In a sense, it’s epic fantasy on a cozy scale. I will also note I listened to the audiobook, read by the author. A quality production, as always.
