Drivers are urged to avoid travel overnight and during the morning hours if possible. If you must be on the road, use extreme caution and slow down. SCDOT crews will continue working through the night, but refreezing can occur quickly as temperatures fall.

Cold temperatures tonight will create dangerous road conditions. As temperatures drop, wet roads are expected to refreeze, leading to icy and hazardous travel conditions by morning, especially on bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas.
