@gator_gum There's a few petitions, this one is newer. It has a different wrinkle, 20% of voters sign a recall petition after a floor crossing, that triggers a by-election.

While people are high fiving and poking at Poilievre and the CPC about the floor crossings, I will freely admit that I really do agree that a byelection or some system (sit as an independent maybe?) would be an appropriate measure.
I know it's "how the system works" but I also understand how I would feel as a voter if I voted for someone who crossed the floor.
Additionally, I understand the MP represents the riding and the will of that constituency and not the party they belong to, but many people truly do vote for party (which you shouldn't) but that's reality.
I do absolutely understand the arguement.

@CanadaPoli2 I think it's related to the forestry management being done now or not done. Logging etc in the forest clears out the fuel for the fires, now that has been scaled back, now more fires.

Canada did not have a fire season when I was growing up.
That only happened recently. It is because of arson, not wildfires.

Reminder before we get into fire season that the federal gov of canada has not added 1 new water bomber, either thru leases or outright purchase to fight fires in canada. so when you see another japser unfold remember they are forcing this to happen, as they won't in any meaningful way engage fires or proper forest management

This is more likely foreign influence trying to disenfranchise conservative voters. Floor crossing is a disincentive to voters.
