It’s not, but his entire ministry is built on this claim. If we accept that the age of the earth is a secondary, intramural debate where we should have liberty of disagreement, AiG is less relevant because it doesn’t tackle an important niche issue. AiG needs this debate to be more serious than it is. They’re incentivized toward division over the topic.

Many well-meaning (but I believe, naive) pastors have an “ick” about engaging in culture war issues. REMINDER: Pastors are literally the only people in America who can avoid these issues, bc they get to live in a tithe-dollar-created bubble. Every one of your people faces these issues everyday at work, with their families, in their schools… and many of them risk their jobs over them. They need clear teaching and consistent encouragement that no, they aren’t crazy.

If you’re wondering why @seanfeucht faked messages claiming that @MikeWingerii and @reachjulieroys were working with Hindu’s to fake claims against him, then deactivated his account to “take a break from social media” I have a feeling this might be why… or at least part of it.
