The problem with democracy is the people themselves. So you have an uninformed public voting candidates and issues. Not enough people educate themselves on current events and political issues. This means the public very vulnerable to propaganda. So you have the possibility of a successful country making serious bad choices in the voting booth and taking the country down the road to ruin.
